K-12 Arts Education

As an artist and life long student, I find the relationship between creative arts and education to be invaluable on a personal and community level.

I enjoy and appreciate working with people of all ages and experiences with the arts – whether I am designing costumes for a youth production, exploring the world of Shakespearean theater with college students or implementing arts based learning in a Jewish religious school, mentoring middle school theater kids or teaching K-12 workshops my approach holds the same core: that all people have an intrinsic creative spirit, it is the resources and support available that cultivate a strong individual and communal artistic mastery.

I can only hope to pass along the dedication, techniques, direction and freedom I was fortunate to experience growing up. In my own creative process and identity, nothing has been more formative than the teachers and spaces where expression is safe, censorship is thrown to the wind, and challenges to the heart, mind and body are encouraged and explored.

Upcoming Events include returning to Brimmer & May School (Boston) for their spring production of The Sound of Music, and a two part workshop with musical theater students grades 3-5 at PS3 / The Charrette School (NY) introducing the role of costumes and props in the musical production process.

Curriculum outlines and sample lesson plans are available upon request.
