K-12 Arts Education

As an artist and life long student, I find the relationship between creative arts and education to be invaluable on a personal and community level.

I enjoy and appreciate working with people of all ages and experiences with the arts – whether I am designing costumes for a youth production, exploring the world of Shakespearean theater with college students or implementing arts based learning in a Jewish religious school, mentoring middle school theater kids or teaching K-12 workshops my approach holds the same core: that all people have an intrinsic creative spirit, it is the resources and support available that cultivate a strong individual and communal artistic mastery.

I can only hope to pass along the dedication, techniques, direction and freedom I was fortunate to experience growing up. In my own creative process and identity, nothing has been more formative than the teachers and spaces where expression is safe, censorship is thrown to the wind, and challenges to the heart, mind and body are encouraged and explored.

Upcoming Events include returning to Brimmer & May School (Boston) for their spring production of The Sound of Music, and a two part workshop with musical theater students grades 3-5 at PS3 / The Charrette School (NY) introducing the role of costumes and props in the musical production process.

Curriculum outlines and sample lesson plans are available upon request.

"a brazen, no-holds-barred play about that time in your life when no one else can possibly understand what you’re going through. A story about abortion, bad jokes, bathing suits, and friendship, DRY LAND, a New York Times critics’ pick, is a brave portrayal of the contemporary American teenager that epitomizes What’s Next in American theatre." - C1

Henry VI, Part 2 with Actors' Shakespeare Project

Velvet capes, brocade gowns, men in tights with daggers & sundry peasants - HENRY VI, PART 2 is a costuming joy for this history nerd. Directed by Shakespeare and Co.'s Tina Packer with costume design by Tyler Kinney, I'm happy to have had the opportunity to assist in this majestic medieval world.

HENRY VI, PART 2 opens May 13th at the Modern Theatre, Boston.

THE CLYTEMNESTRIAD

Written by A. Nora Long

Directed by Caitlin Lowans

When a photograph is all that remains of a soul, who will tell her story? A modern reinterpretation of Aeschylus' Oresteia and Euripides' Iphigenia plays, this story blends time, memory, and myth to suss out other sides of an ancient tale. How can a family find justice after an unspeakable act and end the cycle of revenge?
